    Statistician's Delight!

If today is your birthday, leap for joy (see what I did there?!)! For all of you math nerds out there, which I, sadly, can't claim to be, what are the odds that three siblings, each born 4 years apart, are not only born on the same day but that day is February 29th?! Heidi Henriksen, Olav Henriksen and Leif-Martin Henriksen were all born on February 29th in 1960, 1964 and 1968 respecitvely. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that May 26th was a very special day for cel

National Tortilla Chip Day (aka Nachos for Lunch Day!)

Today is National Tortilla Chip Day, I know, can you believe it's here again already?! 3D Printing the Oscars

    3D Printing the Oscars

This Sunday is the 88th Academy Awards and the actual Oscar statue has been resdesigned to combine elements from both the 2015 statutes and the original 1929 art deco style. Making this possible was the use of 3D printing technology! Once the two styles were combined then a final 3D version was printed with wax. The wax version was then used to create a ceramic mold which was then used to pour the brass in, then they were coated in 24-karat gold. Some fun trivia to impress

Jedi Mind Trick Your Way to Peak Performance !

Check out this great podcast from Will Barron when he chats with Leigh Ashton about using Jedi Mind Tricks or Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) to improve your sales process! The shorthand version is that we let our own negative thinking and fears stand in the way of success. There's a direct line between our thinking and our results: Thought Feeling Action Result Think about something you love to do and identify the feeling you get from that. Before that feeling there is

    An Entry Level Electric Car!

Between yesterday's news that Mattel is putting out a $300 kid-version of a 3D printer, with an easy to use interface, and today's, that in a partnership with Radio Flyer, Tesla is releasing a kid-version of the Model S, I'm having some serious kid envy! I have a feeling that if I put this on my wish list I'd end up with something similar to... Oh well, for those of you fortunate enough to know a non-cheapskate Santa here's some more details: #Christy #Technology #Mattel #Te
    Dear Santa...

    Dear Santa...

Mattel announced at the New York Toy Fair that they are going to be selling a 3D printer designed for kids! Which kids will you buy it for as an excuse to use it yourself?! Mattel has teamed up with Autodesk for the design portion of the ThingMakerDesign. There will be pre-designed items in order to learn and once you feel comfortable with the software, the sky's the limit for what you want to design! Reading about it was so intriguging but then I got to the part that mentio
    Presidential Technology

    Presidential Technology

Happy Presidents' Day! Let's take a look at how different Presidents embraced the modern technology of their time: 1877: President Rutherford B. Hayes installed the first telephone in the White House. 1891: President Benjamin Harrison was the first to have electricity in the White House. Although he never touched the switch himself, he was terrified of being electrocuted! Perhaps funny now, but probably a very reasonable fear 125 years ago! 1909: President William Taft was
